Ingredients

  • 1 free-range turkey 6kg
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 heads of garlic
  • Steak seasoning salt (enough to season your turkey)

Method

  • Step 1: Grab your pre-purchased turkey from Poultry Creations which is already ready to go and place this onto a roasting pan. Preheat your oven to 175 degrees.
  • Step 2: Grab your garlic heads and cut these in half. Place 3 of the 4 halves into the cavity of your turkey. Unwrap the remaining garlic cloves from the last half you have and put these garlic cloves under the skin of the turkey.
  • Step 3: Get a medium-sized bowl. Pour 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil and only just half a cup of soy sauce. Grab your whisk and stir this to combine. Pour this over your turkey. Next, grab your steak seasoning and sprinkle this on the top of your turkey. Cover your turkey with some foil and let this bake for an hour.
  • Step 4: Remove your turkey from the oven, take the foil off and baste the turkey. Place it back for another hour. Remove your turkey from the oven, baste, bake for another hour, doing this at 1-hour intervals. Keep doing this until your meat thermometer reads 170-180 degrees. Remove your turkey from the oven and baste it one more time. Let your turkey sit for 15 minutes. This helps to retain the turkey juices.
  • Step 5: Transfer the turkey to a serving platter, slice it up and serve.
