Ingredients
- 2kg chicken wings
- 1/2 cup of hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot Buffalo Wings Sauce or your preferred brand)
- 1/2 cup of melted unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup of white vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Blue cheese dressing for serving
- Celery sticks for serving
Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 220°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: Pat dry the chicken wings with paper towels and season them with salt and black pepper.
- Step 3: Bake the chicken wings in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through cooking for even browning. While the chicken wings are baking, in a saucepan over low heat, combine the hot sauce, melted butter, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir well to combine and let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Step 4: Once the chicken wings are cooked and crispy, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss them to coat evenly.
- Step 5: Place the coated wings back on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to set the sauce.
- Step 6: Place the coated wings back on the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to set the sauce.
- Step 7: Remove the buffalo wings from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Step 8: Serve the buffalo wings hot with blue cheese on the side for dipping and celery sticks for a classic accompaniment.
